Text to columns feature in excel is used when we have to split a column into one or more columns based on specific length or delimiter characters
Use Data -> Text to columns In this feature we have two options, Delimited and Fixed width

Delimited
This option of the Text to Columns feature allows you to split the text in to columns based on the Delimiter specified, this could be Comma, Semicolon, tab,Space or any other character
Eg: Use Delimited options to split one UserName column into 2 columns namely Last Name and First name columns

Fixed width
This option of the Text to Columns feature allows you to convert the text
from one column to multiple columns based on the number of fixed width splits
You may apply , remove or move a fixed width separator line just by clicking on the data preview
[Alt]+D+E - This will open up the Convert Text to Columns Wizard
